Job Details

• Monitors network systems including server applications, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, storage devices, cabling, tape backups, workstations, printers and other network equipment.

§  Provides remote technical support for technicians for data networks and server applications, IP routing setup and troubleshooting and various customer service issues.

§  Provides customer service and support by sharing technical knowledge and expertise, answering questions and consulting with customers.

• Installs new software applications or hardware as needed, coordinating assistance from third parties when necessary.
• Updates infrastructure manuals and documents changes in the network/server configuration.  Conducts integrity checks and backups in accordance with current company policies.
• Creates various reports regarding bandwidth usage, website usage, and port usage and server utilization to assist future planning.
• Participates in team meetings; providing valuable input and suggestions.

• Responsible for monitoring and supporting multiple Network Operating Systems including various Linux distributions and Windows Servers for Web hosting, DNS, Email, RADIUS, MS Exchange, MySQL/MS-SQL databases, monitoring servers utilizing SNMP and other Internet services.
• Familiarity with CATV networks and cable high-speed access, including cable modem provisioning servers.
• Assists in forecasting core network needs.
• Implements and administration of company internal and external networks, administration of all routing and IP switching including: IP addressing, Bandwidth management, Cisco routers and remote access servers. Administers data circuit provisioning and maintenance including xDSL, T-1, T-3, ATM, frame relay, administration of CSU/DSU circuits, ensuring the security, privacy and integrity of data.
• Administers network; assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining configurations within company standards.
• Understanding of voice network both TDM and IP
• Perform repair on PCs; requisition and verify correct parts are ordered before request is submitted for parts. Update internal and external customers on the status of repairs. Both for internal and external PCs.
